Covered, Touching, and On-Line Coins
By now, you should understand that when you cast all 14 coins, all face-down coins are disregarded, and can be removed from the reading surface. Although rare, it is possible that you end up with a situation where coin “A” is covered by coin “B”, but also touching coin “C”, and also on-line with coin “D” - or some combination thereof. Even when this happens, we continue to read the pattern in the direction of The Pointer. See Figure 15.
Figure 15 - Here, we see a combination of covered, touching, and on-line coins.
The Scythe is on-line with The Grave, The Grave is touching The Crown, and The Crown is covered by The Rose.
The Scythe is on-line with The Grave, The Grave is touching The Crown, and The Crown is covered by The Rose.
The best way to look at this situation is to see the pattern as individual pairs of coins. Moving in the direction of The Pointer, we first see a pair of on-line coins, because The Scythe is on-line with The Grave. Next, we see a pair of touching coins, because The Grave is touching The Crown. Finally, we see a covered coin, because The Rose is covering The Crown. In a full reading, each pair would be interpreted separately, and then the entire message combined with the rest of the coins in the reading to provide greater insight into your question or area of concern.
Set #1 - The Scythe and The Grave:
For example, reading the pattern in Figure 15 in the direction of The Pointer, the set of coins that is farthest to the left is the pair of on-line coins, The Scythe on-line with The Grave. We can ignore the rest of the coins for now.
Since the upper coin, which in this case is The Scythe (representing death, or a new beginning), is considered to have the most influence on, or to weigh down on, the lower coin, which in this case is The Grave (representing a gathering, family and friends, or an organization), we can interpret these coins to represent a new beginning that will affect your social circle, a new beginning that will bring family and friends together, or perhaps a new beginning related to a professional organization.
Set #2 - The Grave and The Crown:
Continuing to move from left to right, in the direction of The Pointer, the next set of coins we encounter is The Grave and The Crown. Even though we just interpreted The Crown as part of the on-line coins, we interpret it again because it is also touching the next coin in the pattern, which is The Crown. As you will recall, when coins touch, we interpret the coin that appears first in the pattern, moving in the direction of The Pointer, to have the most influence on the coin that appears second in the pattern. Here, since The Pointer tells us to read the coins from left to right, we would interpret The Grave to have the most influence on The Crown. While we interpret this pair of coins, all other coins are again temporarily ignored.
Since The Grave appears farther to the left in the pattern (because we’re reading from left to right, in the direction of The Pointer), we consider it to have the most influence on the coin it is touching, which in this case is The Crown. The Grave (representing a gathering, friends and family, or an organization), touching The Crown (representing material success, riches, and treasure) could be interpreted to mean that a gathering or coming together, or an organization, will have a direct impact on your money and wealth.
Set #3 - The Crown and The Rose:
Moving along in the direction of The Pointer, we see The Rose is covering The Crown. When one coin covers another, we consider the top coin to have the most influence on, or to weigh down on, the bottom coin. In this case, The Rose (representing love and relationships) is having the most influence on The Crown (representing material success, riches, and treasure). This could be interpreted to mean that a loved one, or a close personal relationship, will have a direct impact on your money and your wealth.
Putting it All Together:
Now that all sets of coins have been interpreted, we can put the message together. Here, it appears the coins are telling us to expect a new beginning in your social group, and that your social group, as well as a close personal relationship, will have a direct impact on your wealth. This could be a reference to finding a new job through a good friend or family member, or perhaps the start of a new business venture with somebody you trust.
