Magick Seal Color
As already mentioned, there are many ways to incorporate these magick seals into your practice of Santa Muerte magick. If you decide to recreate these seals using ink or paint, I encourage you to create the seal in the color which is associated with the aspect of Santa Muerte that you want to petition. In the instructions that follow, a recommended color is provided for each of the 13 magick seals. For example, if you are creating the True Love seal, then you should consider creating the image of the seal in red ink or red paint, because red is the color associated with love in the tradition of Santa Muerte. While it is true that every aspect of Santa Muerte is the same Santa Muerte - there is after all only one Holy Death - the reason I make this suggestion is because color is one way you can convey your intent, and the more representations of intent you can squeeze into a petition, the more clear your intent will be both to yourself, and to the Santa Muerte.
There may be some instances where incorporating the appropriate color is not possible. You may be carving the seal into a hard surface, or the bare Earth, or you simply may not have access to the appropriate color of ink or paint. Fortunately, Santa Muerte magick is a rather forgiving system of magick, so if incorporating the appropriate color is not feasible, then skip this step and work with what you have. As I stated in the previous chapter, rolling with the punches, and working within your means, is to be commended, and is not the same as being lazy.
Some other ways you can incorporate color into the creation of a magick seal if the appropriate ink or paint is not available is to create the seal in the light of a candle that matches the color associated with your intent - for example, creating a True Love seal in the light of a red candle. Another option is to draw or paint the seal onto a surface the color of which matches the intent, for example drawing the True Love seal on a red wall, or a red sheet of paper. Again, these are only suggestions to help you focus your intent.
