Practice Reading #10
Below is a pattern of coins as it might appear in a real reading. See Figure 43.
Figure 43 - A sample coin reading with all 14 coins cast.
Next, all face-down coins are disregarded, and removed from the reading surface. See Figure 44.
Figure 44 - This is the same reading from Figure 43, but all face-down coins have been removed from the reading surface.
For simplicity, the reading surface can now be rotated so that The Pointer coin appears to point east, or to the three o’clock position - see Figure 45. Whether or not you physically rotate the reading is your decision, but you will always read the coins in the direction of The Pointer.
Figure 45 - The same reading from Figure 43 and Figure 44, after the face-down coins have been removed,
and the reading surface rotated so The Pointer points from left to right.
and the reading surface rotated so The Pointer points from left to right.
The coins, as they appear in Figure 45, are now ready to be interpreted.
Since we are reading from left to right, in the direction of The Pointer coin, we interpret The Eye first, because it is the coin that is farthest to the left of the pattern. The Eye appears almost on-line with The Moon coin, but if you apply a perpendicular straight edge over the reading (perpendicular to the arrow on The Pointer coin, as described in Figure 4), then you would see that, in fact, The Eye is slightly more to the left than The Moon. The Eye represents intuition and internal knowing.
The Moon can be interpreted next, and represents the ebb and flow of good and bad. Notice that The Moon is touching The Skull coin, which means these two coins can be interpreted together. When two coins touch, the coin that appears first when reading the coins in the direction of The Pointer, is considered to have influence over the coin that appears second. Therefore, The Moon would be considered to have influence over The Skull.
The Skull, however, represents the self, and places emphasis on whichever coin(s) land(s) closest to The Skull, which in this case is The Moon. Therefore, we have a unique case where The Moon is interpreted to be influencing The Skull, while The Skull is simultaneously influencing The Moon. This can be interpreted to mean that the energy of a changing tide is very strong in your life right now, and that you are either on the precipice, or in the midst, of a complete reversal of fortune.
The next coin in the reading is The Apple, which represents things coming to fruition, or the bearing of fruit.
Following The Apple is The Scythe, which represents death, and the beginning of something new. The Scythe, in this case, is being covered by The Crossroads, representing an important decision, and the start of a new path in your life. Since The Crossroads is covering The Scythe, we interpret the two coins together, and consider The Crossroads to have the most influence, or to weigh down on, The Scythe. In other words, a decision that must soon be made will be major and final - it will be the death of an old way of life, and the start of a brand new way of life.
The final coin in the pattern is The Scales of Justice, which represents fairness, balance, and retribution. Whatever the decision that leads to a new way of life, you will likely enter a period of balance, when all seems right with the world.
Overall, this reading seems to indicate that you are having strong feelings about the future, and are perhaps anxious about big news that has the potential to turn your life around. Whatever you are working toward, efforts are about to bear fruit and pay dividends, and you can likely feel it in your bones. A final decision will soon be made, perhaps whether or not to accept an offer, but the decision will lead to a new way of life, something completely different from anything you have experienced before, and you will likely find balance and happiness because of it. Above all - you need only be patient, because good things are coming.
