Practice Reading #2
Below is a pattern of coins as it might appear in a real reading. See Figure 19.
Figure 19 - A sample coin reading with all 14 coins cast.
Next, all face-down coins are disregarded, and removed from the reading surface. See Figure 20.
Figure 20 - This is the same reading from Figure 19, but all face-down coins have been removed from the reading surface.
For simplicity, the reading surface can now be rotated so that The Pointer coin appears to point east, or to the three o’clock position - see Figure 21. Whether or not you physically rotate the reading is your decision, but you will always read the coins in the direction of The Pointer.
Figure 21 - The same reading from Figure 19 and Figure 20, after the face-down coins have been removed,
and the reading surface rotated so The Pointer points from left to right.
and the reading surface rotated so The Pointer points from left to right.
The coins, as they appear in Figure 21, are now ready to be interpreted.
Since we are reading from left to right, in the direction of The Pointer coin, we interpret The Flame coin first, because it is the coin that is farthest to the left in the pattern. The Flame represents knowledge, revelation, and illumination. Here, The Flame has also landed on top of The Crossroads coin, which itself is a symbol for a decision that needs to be made, or the start of a new chapter in your life. When one coin covers another, the two coins are interpreted together, with the top coin considered the biggest influence over the bottom coin. In this case, The Flame covering The Crossroads could signal that information will come to light which will influence an upcoming decision, or possibly that information will come to light which will place you at a crossroads where a decision must be made.
The next coin to be interpreted would be The Scales of Justice, representing balance, fairness, and retribution. This coin appears very close to being on-line with The Tear coin, but if you lay a perpendicular straight edge over the reading (perpendicular to the arrow on The Pointer coin, as depicted in Figure 4), you would see that, in fact, The Scales of Justice coin is slightly farther to the left than The Tear. In this reading, you can expect retribution, or balance, following the decision made at The Crossroads. You may be called upon to right a wrong, or the scales of justice may be balanced against you, if you make a poor decision at The Crossroads.
The Tear is the next coin in the reading, representing sadness and depression. This coin landed covered by The Rose, representing love and relationships. Since The Rose landed on top of The Tear, we interpret the two coins together, and consider The Rose to have the most influence on, or to weigh down on, The Tear. These two coins could indicate that an occurrence in a close personal relationship will result in sadness and depression.
The Moon, representing the cycles of life, and the ebb and flow of good and bad, is the next coin in the reading. This can represent a change in your current state of affairs. If things are going well, then you can expect things to turn sour, but if things are already sour, then you can expect things to start going well.
The final coin in the reading is The Bridge, representing either a physical or spiritual journey, which could mean either emotional growth, or actually moving out of a home, or moving away from an organization.
Overall, this reading appears to signal a romantic breakup, or perhaps the end of a professional relationship. Information may be revealed that prompts you to make a decision about the future, a decision likely in pursuit of bringing things back into balance. The result of the revelation and decision to seek balance may very well cause a close personal relationship to inflict sadness and depression, and for you to feel as if something that was once good has now turned sour. After all this, it is also likely that somebody will have to move out, or move along to something else.
