Practice Reading #7
Below is a pattern of coins as it might appear in a real reading. See Figure 34.
Figure 34 - A sample coin reading with all 14 coins cast.
Next, all face-down coins are disregarded, and removed from the reading surface. See Figure 35.
Figure 35 - This is the same reading from Figure 34, but all face-down coins have been removed from the reading surface.
For simplicity, the reading surface can now be rotated so that The Pointer coin appears to point east, or to the three o’clock position - see Figure 36. Whether or not you physically rotate the reading is your decision, but you will always read the coins in the direction of The Pointer.
Figure 36 - The same reading from Figure 34 and Figure 35, after the face-down coins have been removed,
and the reading surface rotated so The Pointer points from left to right.
and the reading surface rotated so The Pointer points from left to right.
The coins, as they appear in Figure 36, are now ready to be interpreted.
Since we are reading from left to right, in the direction of The Pointer coin, we interpret The Scythe coin first, because it is the coin that is farthest to the left of the pattern. The Pointer is touching The Scythe coin, but remember that The Pointer has no interpretive meaning, so we interpret The Scythe coin as a single coin. The Scythe represents death, or the beginning of something new. Out with the old, and in with the new.
The next coin to be interpreted is The Crown, which represents material wealth, success, and treasure. After The Crown appears The Moon, which represents the cycles of life, or ebb and flow of good and bad. So far, the coins could be interpreted to represent the start of something new as it relates to finances - which could be the start of a new job, the winning of a prize, or even starting the pursuit of a new financial goal. Because of the presence of The Moon coin, a lot of this reading will depend on your current financial state. The Moon represents the turning of a tide, or the reversal of fortunes. In other words, if your current financial situation is poor, or if you’re in a frame of mind wishing that finances could improve, then The Moon could be a sign that your situation will soon pull a 180, and what was poor will turn to good. On the other hand, if you are currently in a strong financial position, then these first three coins could be a warning that things are about to turn sour - what is now a good situation could turn 180 degrees into a bad situation.
The last coin to appear is The Bridge, which represents a spiritual or physical journey. Considering the previous three coins, this journey being foretold could represent a spiritual journey of adapting to a new set of circumstances, or a physical journey, such as moving into a new home, or a new place of employment.
Overall, this reading points to a change in financial situation that is not likely going to be temporary. Whatever your financial situation might be at the moment, this reading points to a financial situation being turned on its head. No matter which way the tide turns, the experience will very likely be a journey of experience, education, and growth.
