Practice Reading #9
Below is a pattern of coins as it might appear in a real reading. See Figure 40.
Figure 40 - A sample coin reading with all 14 coins cast.
Next, all face-down coins are disregarded, and removed from the reading surface. See Figure 41.
Figure 41 - This is the same reading from Figure 40, but all face-down coins have been removed from the reading surface.
For simplicity, the reading surface can now be rotated so that The Pointer coin appears to point east, or to the three o’clock position - See Figure 42. Whether or not you physically rotate the reading is your decision, but you will always read the coins in the direction of The Pointer.
Figure 42 - The same reading from Figure 40 and Figure 41, after the face-down coins have been removed,
and the reading surface rotated so The Pointer points from left to right.
and the reading surface rotated so The Pointer points from left to right.
The coins, as they appear in Figure 42, are now ready to be interpreted.
Since we are reading from left to right, in the direction of The Pointer coin, we interpret The Tear coin first, because it is the coin that is farthest to the left of the pattern. The Tear represents sadness and depression. The next coin in the reading is The Grave, which represents a gathering, a coming together, friends and family, or some kind of organization.
The next coins in the reading are The Rose coin, which is covered by The Moon coin - since these two coins landed one on the other, we read the two coins together. The Rose coin represents love, or a relationship of some kind, while The Moon represents the ebb and flow of life, or the turning of a tide. When one coin lands on another, we interpret the top coin to have the most influence on, or to weigh down on, the bottom coin. In this case, since The Moon landed on The Rose, this can be interpreted to mean that a tide is about to turn in a relationship.
So far, the coins are pointing to a falling out with a group of people, or a sadness befalling an organization / close knit group of people, and a relationship being turned on its head.
The Scythe is the coin that appears next in the reading, which represents death, or a new beginning. This coin is followed by The Bridge, which represents a spiritual or emotional journey.
Overall, this reading appears to signal a divorce, or perhaps the end of a business relationship. The sadness befalling the group of people could be the sadness of family, or colleagues, who are sorry to see the relationship break apart. The new beginning may point to life beyond the relationship, and the journey which you will need to take as you assess where you want your life to go next.
