Black Salt Santa Muerte Magick

Primary Use:

To banish, or send away. As in negative energy, negative people, or negative circumstances.

You Will Need:
​

• Salt - Any white sea salt / table salt will do. Salt is used in magick to absorb negative energy.
• Activated Charcoal Powder - To turn your white salt black, and to dispel, or drive away, the negative energy trapped by the white salt. 
• Mortar and Pestle - To incorporate and blend your white salt and charcoal powder together.

Crafting the Salt:

At your Santa Muerte altar, use your mortar and pestle to grind and incorporate together approximately one handful of salt and as much charcoal powder as you need to turn the salt black. As you grind and incorporate the salt and charcoal powder together, recite the Black Salt Santa Muerte magick prayer (found below). The salt is complete when it has turned black to your satisfaction. 

Using the Salt

To use your black salt, go to the area from where you want to banish the negative energy that's bothering you. If it's negativity at your place of work, then this can be performed on the property where you work. If it's negativity at school, then this can be performed on the property where you go to school.

Next, sprinkle a small amount of black salt directly onto the ground in a flat pile. Continue to recite the below Black Salt magick prayer as you do this. You want enough salt to carry the name of the target or energy that you want to banish. The target's name can be the name of a person who you want to send away, or an abstract idea that you want to be free of, like "Jealousy", "Anger", or "Evil".​ Using your finger or other implement, scrape the name of the target into the salt. 

Once your target's name is scraped into the salt, sprinkle another small amount of black salt over the pile - in order to obscure the name of your target and keep your working a secret. Again, continue to recite the magick prayer, found below, as you complete this step.

When complete, you may walk away from your pile of salt. As the pile disperses naturally, so too will the strength of the negative energy you're trying to banish.

Santa Muerte hear this song,
with this salt, make bad be gone.
Salt of black, upon the ground, 
cursed spirits be uncrowned.
In this salt, my target's name,
soak it up, send far away.

Holy Death, amen.
