Egg Cleansing Santa Muerte Magick

Primary Use:

To cleanse yourself of negative energy. Use in times of high stress, anxiety, worry, bad luck, illness, depression, and generally anytime you find yourself in a funk or feeling off your game.

​You Will Need:
  

• 1 Whole Egg - long recognized as a symbol of life, the egg defeats negativity wherever it's used. We believe the egg attracts and neutralizes negativity like a sponge or magnet.

• 1 White Candle - to appeal to the White Cloaked Santa Muerte of peace, harmony, and protection, and to kill any lingering negativity after the ritual is complete.

Ritual:

This egg cleansing ritual can be performed on yourself or on another person. You, or the person you are working over, can stand, sit, or lay down in front of your Santa Muerte altar in the glow of the burning white candle. Begin the ritual by holding the egg in your two hands held toward your altar and reciting the "Egg Cleansing" Santa Muerte magick prayer below.

Starting at the area above the head and moving downward, hold the egg in your dominant hand and slowly hover the egg over all areas of the body. You don't have to physically touch the body with the egg, you can simply hold it 6 to 12 inches from the body. As you slowly move the egg from head to toe, move the egg in slow sweeping motions away from the body. While you work, imagine the negativity that's been causing unrest as a dark cloud or fog around the body, and see it being drawn into the egg just like dust into a vacuum hose.

If working on another person, you can do the front and the back of the body. If performing this cleansing on yourself, move the egg over as much of your body as you can. Be sure to move the egg in sweeps from head to toe, but use your intuition to determine how long to focus on each part of the body. If your inner intuition is silent, you can use your favorite yes / no divination system to determine if more time is necessary.

As you move from head to toe, continue to recite the "Egg Cleansing" Santa Muerte magick prayer below.

After the Ritual

After your cleansing ritual, you can dispose of the egg as regular trash. Some followers choose to break the egg over the Earth and bury the shell, others simply break the egg over the sink and run the shell through the garbage disposal, but the main point is to get the egg out of the house as soon as you can - there's no need to keep the negative energy around.

You can allow the white candle to burn on your altar until completion.

Broken Egg

If you drop and break the egg during any part of the ritual, clean it up as you normally would, dispose of the broken egg following the egg disposal directions above,  and start the ritual again with a fresh egg.

Alternative Egg Cleansing

No candle is necessary for this method. You can also remove negativity from yourself or another person by placing an egg in a glass of water under the bed while you or the other person sleeps.  The stronger you feel the negative energy to be, the more nights under your bed the egg will need. You can use the same egg up to three days, but should switch out for a new egg after that. Again, use your intuition or your favorite yes / no method of divination  to determine how many nights you should do this for.
