Fear of Commitment Santa Muerte Magick

Primary Purpose:

A petition to destroy commitment issues in an otherwise good relationship, to help your relationship move forward when fears of commitment are holding it back. May be performed for relationships at any level, whether you're looking to go steady or get married.

You Will Need:

Herbs:
​

• Rose - to keep the love in the relationship strong.

 

• Lavender - for sexual lust, used here to keep the passion strong in the relationship.

 

• Ginger - to attract new adventures, to bring on the next step in your relationship.

 

• Cleavers - to promote commitment and break down fears of commitment.

Other Items:

• Mortar and Pestle - to grind and incorporate your herbal ingredients.

 

• Picture of the Target - to represent the person in the relationship who is keeping the relationship from moving forward; the person with commitment issues.​

 

• 1 Key - any key will do. The fear of commitment can imprison a relationship, trapping it and preventing it from moving forward. The key represents the key to freeing your target from the prison of fear that's keeping your relationship from moving forward.

 

• 1 Red Offering Candle - to invoke the energy of the red cloaked Santa Muerte of love and romantic relationships.

Prepare the Candle

At your Santa Muerte altar, place the picture of your target under your red offering candle and light the candle so you may work in its light. Place the key so it touches the candle, either placing it on top of the candle so it can rest near the flame as the candle burns, or leaning it against the base of the candle.

Prepare the Herbs

In the glow of the red candle's flame, grind together approximately equal parts of the above herbal ingredients into a coarse to fine blend - the goal is to grind and incorporate until there's a little bit of each ingredient in every pinch. As you grind the herbs, recite and meditate on the Fear of Commitment Santa Muerte magick prayer found below. Praying over the herbs while you grind them will help you focus the energy of this petition toward your desired intent of banishing your love interest's fear of commitment. Be careful of breathing in the dust of the herbs as you grind, as it may cause irritation.

Crafting the Petition

When the herbal ingredients are ground and incorporated to your liking, slowly sprinkle the mixture around the base of your lit candle, reciting the below included Fear of Commitment Santa Muerte magick prayer as you do. As you sprinkle the herbs, focus on your intent of destroying the fear of commitment in the person you love, the fear that's keeping your relationship from moving forward. Visualize yourself with that person living in the next phase of your relationship, whatever that may look like to you. 

When the base of the candle has been encircled by your dry herbal ingredients, allow the candle to burn on your Santa Muerte altar until complete. When your candle has burned completely, retrieve the key and place it on a cord or chain so you can wear it comfortably on your body, then wear the key whenever you're with the person suffering from commitment issues. You can wear the key on a necklace, dangling from a bracelet, or even hanging off a belt loop on your pants. However, you should only wear this charm when you are with the person suffering from commitment issues - this is to further symbolize your intent over the specific person's fears. When you are not with the person, the charm can be stored as you would a regular piece of jewelry. 

You can pray the below Fear of Commitment magick prayer over the key before and after going out with the person. If you live with the person, you'll probably spend more time wearing this charm than not. This is not a general love charm, but a very specific love charm - therefore, it must be treated with specific intent.

Disposing of Petition Materials

The key charm can be kept for as long as needed. You can "recharge" it's power by using the same key in a duplicate Fear of Commitment petition - use your intuition or your favorite method of divination to determine when the petition should be performed again, if at all.
