Love Me As I Am Santa Muerte Magick

Primary Use

To encourage loved ones to accept you as you are - your beliefs, decisions, lifestyle, orientation, et cetera.

You Will Need

Herbs:

• ​Calamus Root - to gain control over another person or situation. Calamus doesn't turn people into zombie-slaves, but it can ensure they see you as positively confident, charming, and charismatic. This will make it much easier for your target(s) to accept you for who you are.
• ​Licorice Root - to change the thoughts of others, to push another person's mind in the direction you choose, to make your target more receptive to your ideas.
• Cloves - to attract friends and prevent gossip, for self confidence.
• Rose- for attracting lasting love of any type; in this case, love of family and friends.

Other Items:

• Almond Carrier Oil - corresponding to matters of the brain and mind, used here to coat the candle and strengthen the connection between your magick and the minds of the people who you want to influence.
• ​Mortar and Pestle - for grinding and incorporating your herbal ingredients into a powder. 
• ​Thin Etching Tool - like a pick or pin, to etch into the outside of your candle.
• ​Burn Plate or Bowl - to hold your candle while it burns.
• 1 White Skull Candle - to serve as the magickal representation of the people you want to influence, and to appeal to the white cloaked Santa Muerte of peace and harmony.

Candle Preparation

At your Santa Muerte altar, etch the name(s) of the person or people who you want to be more accepting of your way of life. If the list is longer than one or two people, you may simply etch a descriptive phrase to include all the people whose acceptance you seek - for example "The Smith Family," or "Friends of Mine," or "Friends and Family," et cetera.

Place this candle on your burn plate or bowl, and set aside.

Now grind and incorporate approximately equal parts calamus root, licorice root, cloves, and rose with your mortar and pestle. The calamus and licorice are typically sold whole or as broken chips and may be difficult to grind in a mortar and pestle right out of the package. I recommend cutting or shaving these herbs into pieces as small as possible before trying to grind in a mortar and pestle. You can also make grinding easier by ensuring that the herbs are thoroughly dry before initiating the process.

As you grind and incorporate the herbs, you can recite the Love Me As I Am Santa Muerte magick prayer, which is included below, as you focus on your intent of winning the acceptance of the people you care about.

Be careful of breathing in the dust of the herbs as you grind, as it may cause irritation. You ultimately want enough ground herbs to cover the outside of your skull candle. The mixture is complete when you're happy with its consistency.

Next, lightly coat the outside of your skull candle, top to bottom, in almond carrier oil, then sprinkle your herb mix over all areas of the oil coated candle. You may again recite the Love Me As I Am magick prayer, and focus on your desired intent, as you complete these final steps.

Using Your Candle

Place your prepared skull candle and burn plate on or near your Santa Muerte altar, then light the candle and recite the Love Me As I Am Santa Muerte magick prayer (below) three times. As you recite the prayer, visualize your loved one(s) accepting you with open arms, just as you are.

Optional

While your skull candle burns, take time to talk to and pray over it throughout your day. Talk just like you would if your targets were right in front of you and giving you all the attention in the world. Explain to them how much you value their love and relationship, and how much they mean to you. Ask for their acceptance. You can end each talk with the Love Me As I Am magick prayer, found below.

Disposing of Your Skull Candle

When you've worked your magick with the skull candle and it's burned all the way to completion, you may dispose of what remains from this petition using the instructions outlined in my post How to Dispose of Magick Trash.
