Open Minded Lover Santa Muerte Magick

Primary Use:

To encourage a lover to open their mind to sexual experimentation and new sexual adventures.

You Will Need:

Herbs:

• ​Calamus Root - to gain control over another person or situation. Calamus doesn't turn people into zombie-slaves, but it can ensure that your target sees you as positively confident, charming, and charismatic. This will make it much easier for your target to go along with your ideas.
• ​Licorice Root - to change the thoughts of another person, to push another person's mind in the direction you choose, to make your target more receptive to your ideas.
• Ginger - to promote sexuality and new adventures.
• Lavander - to attract sexual lust.

Other Items:

• Almond Carrier Oil - corresponding to matters of the brain and mind, used here to coat the candle and strengthen the connection between your magick and the target's mind.
• Personal Items of Target - to cement the magickal connection between your skull candle and your target. As this is a petition for someone who is already a lover, it should be easy to get some nail or hair clippings. If these are unavailable, then use a photo of your lover.

• ​Mortar and Pestle - for grinding and incorporating your herbal ingredients into a powder. ​
• ​Thin Etching Tool - like a pick or pin, to etch into the outside of your skull candle.
• ​Burn Plate or Bowl - to hold your skull candle while it burns.
• 1 Red Skull Candle - to serve as the magickal representation of your target for this petition.

Candle Preparation

At your Santa Muerte altar, place the personal items or photo of your target lover in the center of the burn plate or bowl. Set aside.

Etch the name of your target lover into the outside of your skull candle, then place this candle on your burn plate or bowl, directly over the personal items or photo of the target.

Now grind approximately equal parts calamus root, licorice root, ginger, and lavender. The calamus, licorice, and ginger are typically sold whole or as broken chips and may be difficult to grind in a mortar and pestle right out of the package. I recommend cutting or shaving these herbs into pieces as small as possible before trying to grind in a mortar and pestle. You can also make grinding easier by ensuring that the herbs are thoroughly dry before introducing into your mortar and pestle. Be careful of breathing in the dust of the herbs as you grind, as it may cause irritation. You ultimately want enough ground herbs to cover the outside of your candle.

The mixture is complete when you're happy with its consistency.

Next, lightly coat the outside of your skull candle, top to bottom, in almond carrier oil, then sprinkle your herb mix over all areas of the oil coated candle.

​Throughout the process of preparing your candle, hold the image of your target in your mind's eye, and repeat the Open Minded Lover Santa Muerte magick prayer (see below).

Using Your Candle

Place your prepared skull candle and burn plate on or near your Santa Muerte altar, then light the candle and recite the Open Minded Lover Santa Muerte magick prayer (below) three times. As you recite the prayer, visualize your lover taking part in the sexual fantasy you want to try.

Optional

While your skull candle burns, take time to talk to and pray over it throughout your day. Talk just like you would if your target was right in front of you and giving you all the attention in the world. Describe all the sexual things you want to try, explain how happy it would make you, and how much closer it would bring you as a couple if your lover would open their mind to the idea of sexual experimentation. You can end each talk with the Open Minded Lover magick prayer found below. 

Disposing of Your Skull Candle​​​
