Quit Smoking Santa Muerte Magick

Primary Use

For help in letting go of a smoking habit.

​***Magick is a tool, not a cure. Always use magick in conjuction with modern medicine.

You Will Need

Herbs:

• Basil - for purification of the body. Also to dispel weakness, especially weakness in the face of cravings.
• Black Pepper - to promote the breaking of bad habits.

Other Items: 

• ​Mortar and Pestle - for grinding and incorporating your herbal ingredients into a powder. 
• Smoking Paraphernalia - items representing your smoking habit, such as your current supply of cigarettes, a lighter, a pipe, rolling papers, et cetera. Only use what you have on hand; do not buy more cigarettes just for this petition.
• 1 Yellow Offering Candle - to appeal to the Yellow Cloaked Santa Muerte of Health and Healing, called upon here to destroy the habit which threatens the wellness of your body.

Prepare the Herbs

At your Santa Muerte altar, in the light of the yellow candle's flame, grind and incorporate approximately equal parts of your herbal ingredients, the basil and black pepper, in your mortar and pestle. You ultimately want enough of a mixture to surround the base of the yellow candle, plus a few pinches extra to sprinkle over your smoking paraphernalia. As you grind and incorporate the herbal ingredients, recite the below included Stop Smoking Santa Muerte magick prayer, and try to focus on your intent of giving up your smoking habit. Be careful of breathing in the dust of the herbs as you grind, as it may cause irritation.

Encircle the Candle

Next, slowly sprinkle your herbal mixture around the base of the yellow candle. As you sprinkle the herbal mixture, continue to recite the below magick prayer as you focus on your intent of giving up your smoking habit. Remember to save a pinch or two for the next step.

Sprinkle the Smoking Paraphernalia

Place your smoking paraphernalia on or near your altar, so they may rest in the light of the yellow candle's flame. Sprinkle one or two pinches of your herbal mixture over each item of paraphernalia - remember that less is more. After sprinkling the paraphernalia, again recite the below magick prayer.

Resting the paraphernalia in the light of the candle's flame will allow the intent of your petition to burn away and weaken the power the items have over you. Sprinkling the items with one or two pinches of the herbal mixture further symbolizes your intent to purify the items from your life and to break the habit which the items represent.

Allow the candle to burn to completion.

Disposing of Petition Materials

When the candle burns to completion, you may keep and use the paraphernalia as normal - if the petition was a success, then you should notice your desire to use the paraphernalia diminishing over time. Stop Smoking Santa Muerte Magick Prayer

Holy Death, to you I pray,
end this habit right away.

Make my will as strong as oak,
