To keep you safe while you travel, and to ensure a safe arrival home.

Safe Travels Magick Powder

You Will Need -

Herbs:
​

• Lucky Hand Root - for good luck while traveling and general protection.

• Bladderwrack - for protection while traveling by water.

• Feverfew - for protection while traveling by land.

• Lungwort - for protection while traveling by air.

​Other Items:

• ​Mortar and Pestle - for grinding your herbal ingredients into a powder.

• ​Mini-Mason Jar - or other suitable container. For storing your Safe Travels magick powder. Mini mason jars are recommended because they offer a wide mouth for easy pouring.

• 1 White Candle - to appeal to the energy of the White Cloaked Santa Muerte of protection while traveling.

Powder Instructions

At your Santa Muerte altar in the glow of the white candle's flame, grind together approximately equal parts of herbal ingredients into a powder. Lucky Hand Root is generally sold whole and may be difficult to grind in a mortar and pestle right out of the package. I recommend cutting or shaving the root into pieces as small as possible before trying to grind by hand.

As you grind the herbal ingredients, recite and meditate on the Safe Travels Santa Muerte magick prayer found below. Praying over the herbs while you grind them into powder will help you focus the energy of the potion toward your desired intent of staying safe while you travel and arriving home safely.  Be careful of breathing in the dust of the herbs as you grind, as it may cause irritation.

Transfer to the mini-mason jar or other container, and leave in the light of your white candle until the candle burns to completion. Label the jar or container.

To use powder, recite the Safe Travels Santa Muerte magick prayer found below as you sprinkle in areas associated with your travels - including the luggage you plan on packing, the car you plan on driving, and in the corners of the hotel room when you've checked in. Sprinkle in your shoes so you may be protected as you walk about the town you're visiting.

Safe Travels Magick Oil

You Will Need -

Ingredients:

• Safe Travels Magick Powder - from the instructions above.

• Castor Carrier Oil - a magickal oil base for formulas dealing with protection and defeating negativity.

Other Items:

• ​Mini-Mason Jar - for storing your Safe Travels magick oil. Mini mason jars are recommended because they offer a wide mouth for easy pouring. Also, small batches are recommended because magick oil has a shelf life, so you shouldn't make more than you intend on using over the next few months.

• 1 White Candle - to appeal to the energy of the White Cloaked Santa Muerte of protection while traveling.

Oil Instructions

At your Santa Muerte altar in the glow of the white candle's flame, combine in your mini-mason jar or other magick oil container Safe Travels Magick Powder and castor carrier oil. There is no rule as to how much powder you should add to the oil, but a ratio of about 10% powder to 90% oil will do just fine.

​Stir or mix until all dry powder is incorporated. As you do that, continue to recite the Safe Travels Santa Muerte magick prayer (found below) over your potion while meditating on the intent of staying safe while you travel and arriving home safely.

Leave in the light of your white candle until the candle burns to completion. Label the jar or container.

Store your new batch of magick oil for at least 10 days in a cool, dark place before use to allow the carrier oil enough time to absorb the energies of the dry ingredients. During this time, you can periodically mix the ingredients as you pray the Safe Travels magick prayer and focus on the magickal intent behind the potion. ​Your oil is ready for magickal work after the 10th day. Continue to store in a cool, dark place when not in use.

To use oil, recite the below Safe Travels Santa Muerte magick prayer as you anoint areas and items associated with your journey. Anoint the corners of your travel tickets, anoint the outer door and headboard of your hotel room, anoint the steering wheel of your rental car, anoint your hotel key and carry on your person like a talisman. You can also etch your dates of travel into a white candle, anoint the candle with Safe Travels oil, and burn as an offering on your Santa Muerte altar.
