Security Deposit Protection Santa Muerte Magick

Primary Use

To protect your security deposit against dishonest landlords.

NOTE

This petition provides two options.

Option #1 is a pre-move in petition to be performed if you have NOT already paid your deposit. This option enchants your deposit with magnetic energy so it may return to you in the future. Option #2 is a pre-move out petition to be performed if you have already paid your deposit and you are nearing the end of your lease. This option influences the thoughts of your landlord to encourage them to return the money you are owed. ​You can perform one or both petitions - depending on how shady you think your landlord is.

Option #1
If you have NOT already paid your security deposit. A pre-move in petition.

​You Will Need

Herbs:
​

• Cinnamon - associated with prosperity, abundance, and fullness. Used here to represent abundance of property and your wealth being made whole.
• Thistle, Blessed - for protection from thieves, to protect what is yours against dishonest people.
• Wheat Flour - to represent harvesting your security deposit at the end of your lease. 

Other Ingredients:

• Representation of Your Security Deposit - this can be the actual cash, check, or money order you intend to hand over as your deposit (if you have some time before you need to pay), or it can be a photocopy or picture of the cash, check, or money order (if you need to pay the actual money quickly). If you plan on paying online, you can create a fictional representation of the security deposit to use for the physical petition. For example, you can use play money, a fake check drawn with pen on paper, or a voided check made to look like a deposit check. 
• ​Mortar and Pestle - for grinding and incorporating your herbal ingredients into a mixture.
• 1 Small Magnet - any small to medium magnet will work. This magnet will be saved as part of a magick charm. 
• Small Jar with Lid - to hold the magnet and herbal ingredients as a magick charm.
• 1 Green Candle - to appeal to the energy of the Green Cloaked Santa Muerte of justice and getting what is owed.

Prepare the Herbal Mixture

​At or near your Santa Muerte altar, light the green offering candle so you may work in its light. Place the representation of your security deposit so it rests in the light of the green candle. Use your mortar and pestle to grind and incorporate approximately equal parts of the the cinnamon and blessed thistle, plus a few pinches of wheat flour. As you grind and incorporate the herbal ingredients, recite the below included Deposit Protection Santa Muerte magick prayer (for Option #1). Praying over the herbs as you grind them will help you focus your magickal energy toward your desired intent of having your security deposit returned to you. Be careful of breathing in the dust of the herbs as you grind, as it may cause irritation. 

Cover Your Security Deposit

When your herbal ingredients are ground and incorporated, slowly sprinkle the herbal mixture over the representation of your security deposit. As you sprinkle the herbs over the security deposit, continue to recite the below included magick prayer (for Option #1). Next, place the magnet on the representation of the security deposit as well. Then leave the representation of the security deposit to rest in the light of the green candle until the candle burns to completion.

Maintain the Charm

The petition is complete when the candle burns to completion. Collect the herbal ingredients and the magnet and place them into the jar. If you used a photocopy or fictional representation of your deposit, you can place that representation into the jar as well.

Close the lid on the jar then store in a safe place. Once a month, on the day you make your rent payment, take a few moments to hold the jar in your hands and say three times the below included magick prayer (for Option #1). You can continue to do this until the day you make your last rent payment.

Deposit Protection Santa Muerte Magick Prayer (for Option #1)

Holy Death, bless us who rent.
Bless my hard earned money sent.
Rent deposit for my home,
Be returned what I am owed.

Like a magnet back to me,
Rent deposit, blessed be.
Keep my landlord fair and true,
To give back what I am due.

Option #2
If you have already paid your security deposit, and you are nearing the end of your lease. I would perform this petition early in the last month of the lease.

​You Will Need

Herbs:

• ​Calamus Root - to gain control over another person or situation. Calamus doesn't turn people into zombie-slaves, but it can ensure that your target sees you as positively confident, charming, and charismatic. This will make it much easier for you to get what you want or need from them.
• ​Licorice Root - to change the thoughts of another person, to push another person's mind in the direction you choose, to make your target more receptive to your ideas, to keep something on someone's mind.

Other Ingredients: 

• 1 Skull Candle - to serve as the magickal representation of your target landlord. Use a green skull candle if possible, as this color is associated with matters of justice and getting what is owed. You can use a white candle if green is not available.
• Almond Carrier Oil - corresponding to matters of the brain and mind, used here to coat the candle and strengthen the connection between your magick and the target's mind.
• Dirt from the Rental Property - a few pinches of dirt from the land where the rental property is located. 
• ​Mortar and Pestle - for grinding and incorporating the herbal ingredients into a mixture. ​
• ​Thin Etching Tool - like a pick or pin, to etch into the outside of your skull candle.
• ​Burning Plate or Bowl - to hold your skull candle while it burns.

Prepare the Candle

At your Santa Muerte altar, use your thin etching tool to write the name of your landlord into the wax of the skull candle. If you pay rent to a corporation, write the name of that corporation instead. Also write the words "Return My Deposit!" into the wax of the candle. Place the candle on the burn plate, then set aside. 

Prepare the Herbs

Now incorporate together approximately equal parts calamus root and licorice root. Add into the herbal ingredients a few pinches of dirt from the land where the rental property is located. Calamus and licorice roots are typically sold whole or as broken chips and may be difficult to grind in a mortar and pestle right out of the package. I recommend cutting or shaving the roots into pieces as small as possible before trying to grind in a mortar and pestle. You can also make grinding easier by ensuring that the roots are thoroughly dry before introducing into your mortar and pestle. You ultimately want enough ground calamus and licorice root to lightly cover the outside of your candle.

As you incorporate the herbal ingredients, recite and meditate on the Security Deposit Protection Santa Muerte magick prayer, found below (for Option #2). Praying over the herbs while you grind and incorporate them together will help you focus the energy of the potion toward your desired intent of influencing your landlord to return your security deposit.  Be careful of breathing in the dust of the herbs as you grind, as it may cause irritation.

The mixture is complete when you're happy with its consistency.

Finish the Candle

Next, lightly coat the outside of your skull candle, top to bottom, in almond carrier oil, then sprinkle your herb mix over all areas of the oil coated candle. 

As you lightly coat the candle, you can continue to recite the below included Deposit Protection Santa Muerte Magick prayer (for Option #2).

Light the candle and let it burn to completion. When the candle burns to completion, you can consider the petition complete.
